How ShowPilot handles your visitors' data, and the controls you have over it.
ShowPilot agents talk to your website visitors on your behalf, so the data from those conversations has to stay yours and under your control. This page covers how that data is handled and which controls sit with you.
How is visitor data handled?
- Your data stays in your organization. Every piece of data in ShowPilot belongs to one organization, and every read is limited to that organization. Your knowledge base search is kept separate per organization and per agent.
- No training on your data. Conversations are processed by ShowPilot's AI providers to run your agent. They are never used to train models.
- Pseudonymous product analytics. ShowPilot's own product analytics identifies visitors by a random identifier and is hosted in the EU.
- Email to prospects comes from your reps. ShowPilot never emails your prospects from a ShowPilot address. It sends from the rep's own connected mailbox, and skips the email when there isn't one. See Connect your email and calendar.
Which controls do you run?
- Data requests. Look up a visitor by email, then export or delete what ShowPilot holds on them. See Privacy and data.
- Retention. Choose how long visitor data is kept. It's deleted automatically when the time runs out.
- Page exclusions. Keep the agent off pages like your privacy policy or checkout. See Targeting.
- Internal traffic. Exclude your team's IP addresses so your own testing stays out of your numbers. See Exclude internal traffic.
- Your own tags. On your site, agent milestones go to your own Tag Manager container, under your consent setup. See Track ShowPilot conversions in Google Tag Manager.
What about systems you connect?
Your CRM, your Slack workspace and your Tag Manager container act on your instructions, under your own agreements with those providers. Data written there follows your policies, and ShowPilot's data requests don't reach it.
