Run Tag Manager on hosted pages
Load your Google Tag Manager container on the tour and hub pages ShowPilot hosts, so your analytics and pixels work there too.
Your campaign links should count in your analytics the same way your own pages do. Some pages are hosted by ShowPilot rather than your website, such as the tour and hub links you share in campaigns. Your own tags don't run there by default. Turn on Google Tag Manager in Settings → Tracking and ShowPilot loads your container on those pages. Your analytics and ad pixels then work there like on any page you own, and so does retargeting.
This article covers turning it on and checking your container loads.
You're in the right place when you share ShowPilot-hosted tour or hub links. You don't need this for your own website. There, the agent already sends its milestones to the container you run. See Track ShowPilot conversions in Google Tag Manager.
Before you start
- Your GTM container ID. It looks like
GTM-XXXXXXXand shows at the top right of your container in Google Tag Manager.
How do you turn it on?
Open Tracking
Go to Settings → Tracking. The page is titled Tracking Integrations.
Turn on Google Tag Manager
Turn on the Google Tag Manager switch and enter your ID in GTM container ID.
Save
Select Save. On the Settings index, Tracking now shows Connected.

Test it
Your container is running when GTM's debug panel connects to a shared link:
- In Google Tag Manager, select Preview and enter the address of one of your shared tour or hub links.
- The debug panel connects, which means your container loaded on the page.
- Interact with the page and check that your tags fire.
Frequently asked questions
Who is responsible for consent on these pages?
You are. The tags are yours, so make sure your privacy policy and visitor consent cover the tags you run on these pages.
What happens if I turn it off?
Switch Google Tag Manager off and save. Your container stops loading, and the ID stays saved for next time.
Do the ShowPilot events fire on hosted pages too?
Yes. With your container running there, the agent milestones in Track ShowPilot conversions in Google Tag Manager fire on those pages as well.
