Set your north star, team hours and goal
Tell Insights which number matters most, when your team works, and what target to pace against.
These settings point Pulse at the result your team is measured on. Pick the number that proves the agent's value, show the coverage it adds while your team is offline, and pace it against a monthly or quarterly target.
This article covers each setting and how to confirm it took effect. Every Insights tab works without setup.
What do these settings change?
| Setting | What it changes on Pulse |
|---|---|
| North-star metric | Which metric the summary leads with. |
| Team coverage hours | The after-hours coverage card, Around the clock. |
| Goal | The Pacing to goal bar. |
Where do you find them?
Open them from Settings → Insights, or select Configure at the top right of any Insights tab.
Before you start
- At least one published agent on your site, so there's data to measure.
Set it up
Pick a north-star metric
Under North-star metric, select the number your team is measured on: Meetings, Pipeline $, Qualified or Outcomes. The Pulse summary leads with this metric. If you don't pick one, it uses Meetings.
Describe your ideal customer
Under Ideal customer profile, describe the companies you sell to in plain language, such as their industry and size, or the region they're in. Your agent reads this to decide which visitors to prioritize.
Set your team's hours
Under Team coverage hours, turn on Highlight the after-hours coverage my agent adds. Set the start and end time, then select the days your team works. The timezone is shown next to the times.
This doesn't exclude anything. It lets Pulse show how many conversations happened while your team was offline.
Set a goal
Under Goal, turn on Track a target. Pick the metric, enter the target number, and choose Month or Quarter.
Save
Select Save settings. Saved appears next to the button.
Test it
- Go to Insights → Pulse.
- With team hours set, the Around the clock card shows an hourly chart and the share of conversations after hours.
- With a goal set, a Pacing to goal bar appears under the KPI cards.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| No pacing bar | Check that Track a target is on and the target is above 0, then save again. |
| Around the clock still asks for hours | Check that the switch under Team coverage hours is on and that you selected Save settings. |
